Le futur
In English we say “will” to mark the future. In French the future is a simple tense where the infinitive is changed.
For -er, ir, or re* verbs simply add the proper endings. *You need to drop the e of -re verb infinitives first.
Add :
ai ons
as ez
a ont
The endings of the same color sound alike.
Here's an -er verb:
You don't pronounce the e of the er infinitive, just the r.
Parler
Je parlerai Nous parlerons
Tu parleras Vous parlerez
Il parlera Ils parleront
Here's an -ir verb:
Choisir
Je choisirai Nous choisirons
Tu choisiras Vous choisirez
Il choisira Ils choisiront
And here's an re verb:
Don't forget to drop the e first!
Vendre
Je vendrai Nous vendrons
Tu vendras Vous vendrez
Il vendra Ils vendront
